The Shore. The Dialogue

The Museum of the World Ocean is glad to welcome you in Maritime Koenigsberg-Kaliningrad exposition hall at The Shore. The Dialogue exhibition. Visitors can move to the seashore, so diverse and changeable, thanks to the authors’ talents since the artists Alexandra and Maria Suvorova see a shore as a place of intersection of various spaces, elements and cultures. It is that line where opposites meet: verticals and horizontals, primeval water element and its storms, sunk galleons, lost islands and human world with its cities, gardens and fishing boats.

Alexandra and Maria are interested in exploring and depicting the combination of the opposites and analyze people’s view on the water element and nature of shores on their canvases. In order to implement their visions the artists use simple graphical materials (Indian ink, sanguine and pencilas), work with paper itself (roll and cut it) and use graphical techniques (rhythm, strict composition and tone masses).
